Glory Rail Custom Processing Services

Designed according to DIN 536 A-series crane rails (A45, A55, A65, A75, A100, A120) are ideal for port cranes, overhead cranes, and heavy-duty conveyor systems. We offer tailored processing services to adapt each rail to your installation and project needs.

End machining: Rail ends are chamfered or precision-milled to improve joint fit and eliminate edge damage during wheel transition.

Curved rail forming: Cold or hot bending is applied under controlled stress conditions to achieve stable alignment for curved track sections.

Trolley rail preparation: Short rail sections and matching accessories are prepared for crane trolley systems used in port and heavy-duty handling applications.

Bevel cutting: Non-standard cutting angles, including 45° and project-specific geometries, are produced to suit complex installation layouts.

Surface protection treatment: Sandblasting, painting, or hot-dip galvanizing is applied to improve corrosion resistance in outdoor and marine environments.

Special end fabrication: Rail ends can be manufactured according to drawings for welded joints or custom structural connections.

With decades of engineering experience in rail manufacturing, Glory Rail focuses on delivering precision-engineered crane rail systems designed for demanding industrial applications. Operating under established DIN and EN specifications with ISO-certified quality management, we integrate controlled steel processing and in-process inspection to ensure consistent dimensional accuracy, mechanical performance, and long-term operational reliability.

DIN 536 A150 Rail System Solutions

Including Complete Rail Fastening Systems

  1. Crane Rail Clips: Custom-made for DIN 536 Series A rails, these high-strength clamps deliver superior vibration resistance. Ideal for gantry and overhead crane tracks, suitable for gauges ranging from 600mm to 1520mm.
  2. Rubber Pads: Shock-absorbent and anti-aging rubber pads reduce noise, cushion impact and protect rails for all crane applications.
  3. Steel Soleplates: High-quality steel soleplates provide rigid support, evenly spread loads and avoid structural deformation.
  4. Rail Aluminothermic Welding Kits: Complete aluminothermic welding kits for crane rail installation. It creates high-strength, fatigue-resistant rail joints via exothermic reaction. No complex power required, enabling fast on-site installation for heavy-duty crane rails.

DIN 536 A150 Rail Applications

I. Ultra-Large Port Quayside Container Cranes

When handling ultra-large vessels, the reach of the gantry crane exceeds 70 meters, and the wheel load per wheel is generally greater than 80 tons. Only the A150’s 150 mm rail head width and 150.3 kg/m linear density can keep contact stress below the fatigue limit of the steel. Narrower rails would suffer from plastic crushing or rapid wear of the rail head under cyclic loading, failing to meet the reliability requirements for 24-hour continuous terminal operations.

II. Giant Shipbuilding Gantry Cranes

Hull sections often weigh 800–1,000 tons, and the wheel load of the crane—combined with the load—far exceeds the load-bearing capacity of conventional rails. The A150’s rail body thickness of up to 150 mm and web thickness of 80 mm provide a flexural section modulus unmatched by other specifications, resisting localized settlement and rail distortion during long-distance travel of the gantry crane. This is the essential requirement for ensuring the precision of section assembly and operational safety within the dry dock.

III. Super-Heavy-Duty Metallurgical Cranes

Molten steel ladles often weigh 200–300 tons and emit thermal radiation exceeding 700°C, causing a decline in the high-temperature strength of the rail material. The A150 rail has the largest cross-sectional dimensions and specific heat capacity per unit length, which delays thermal softening. At the same time, its wide rail head disperses extremely high Hertzian contact stresses, preventing rail head crushing or spalling during 24/7 high-frequency operations. Rails with smaller cross-sections would see their service life drastically reduced to unacceptable levels under these operating conditions.

Why is the A150 considered the “only” choice in certain scenarios?

The A150’s core advantage lies in its unmatched ability to withstand extreme single-wheel loads and its massive contact area with the rail head.

A World of Difference in Load-Bearing Capacity: The A150 is specifically designed for extreme operating conditions where single-wheel load exceeds 70–80 tons. In contrast, the A120 typically handles loads in the 40–60-ton range, which is considered heavy-duty; models below that, such as the A100, are even less capable. Once the load exceeds the A120’s upper limit, choosing the A150 is not an option—it is a necessity.

The Critical Role of Rail Head Area: The A150 features a rail head width of 150 mm, a full 30 mm wider than the A120. This additional 30 mm is of significant importance, as it provides a broader support surface for massive crane wheels, effectively reducing contact stress. From an engineering mechanics perspective, the A150’s rail head area (150 mm x 150 mm) is 1.8 times that of the A120 (120 mm x 105 mm). This geometric advantage cannot be compensated for by material upgrades in other models. The larger contact surface also significantly reduces wheel-rail wear, extending the overall service life of the system.

Quality Assurance & Inspection

All A150 crane rails are manufactured to DIN 536-1:1991 (≥690 N/mm²). Each rail undergoes ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), and visual check. Mill Test Certificate EN 10204 Type 3.1/3.2 is available. Full traceability via heat number. Third-party inspection (SGS, BV, TUV) is welcome at any stage.
