Precision Steel Soleplate Solutions

Crane rails are typically not installed directly on concrete floors due to inadequate load-bearing capacity of concrete. Steel soleplates must be laid as direct bearing surfaces, while some rails can be mounted on H-beams or channel steel. Glory Rail operates a dedicated steel soleplate workshop, using laser-cut and drilled high-quality plates for precision. For welded rail clamp solutions, clamp baseplates are welded to soleplates, with optional galvanizing or anti-corrosion painting. Clients simply transport prefabricated steel support plates to construction sites for installation.

Type of Rail Support

Continuous and individual steel soleplates offer tailored support solutions for different track structures and loading requirements.

CONTINUOUS STEEL SOLEPLATES

  • Continuous soleplates support heavy-duty rails via bolted or welded clamps.
  • Welded clamps with steel soleplates are ideal for heavy-duty crane systems.
  • Carbon steel plates (>20mm thickness) ensure high load capacity.
  • Baseplates are welded to soleplates before galvanizing for corrosion resistance and weld integrity.
  • The soleplates incorporate threaded anchor holes and leveling bolt holes for precise alignment and connection with concrete foundations.

INDIVIDUAL STEEL SOLEPLATES

  • Individual soleplates are suitable for lighter lifting equipment, offering material efficiency compared to continuous soleplates with reduced construction effort and simpler installation.

  • These soleplates feature pre-drilled holes for anchor bolt connections and bolted rail clamp mounting.

  • In light-duty applications, rail clamps and anchor bolts can be directly interconnected without intermediate components.

Technical Specifications for Steel Soleplate Design and Fabrication:

The soleplate width shall be determined by the minimum installation width of the rail, which is derived from the rail’s base width and bracket type. Excessive length in continuous soleplate design may induce warping after cutting. Flatness is critical for rail system performance; optimized lengths will be designed based on actual rail profiles.

Soleplates are fabricated from S355JR or equivalent-grade steel, ensuring high strength and structural stability. Laser cutting production lines guarantee dimensional accuracy and clean edge finishes.
