The customer specializes in providing industrial components and maintenance solutions for mining processing equipment, including crushers, ball mills, heavy-duty vibrating screens, and classifiers. Their business requires reliable components that can perform under demanding industrial environments.
For this crane project, the customer needed GB50KG steel rails with customized bending and machining requirements to ensure compatibility with the existing crane track layout.
Customer Requirements
The customer was looking for more than standard steel rail supply. The project required additional fabrication processes to meet the specific installation requirements of the crane system.
The main requirements included:

The customized rails were manufactured according to the customer’s drawings to ensure proper integration with their crane track system.
Customized Rail Bending and Hole Machining Process
One of the key challenges of this project was producing curved GB50KG rails while maintaining dimensional accuracy.
The standard GB50KG(P50) rail supplied according to national specifications normally has mounting holes with a diameter of 31 mm. However, according to the customer’s drawings, the required hole diameter was 34 mm.
To achieve the required accuracy, the production process was arranged as follows:
1. Rail Bending
The GB50KG rails were first bent according to the specified arc radius provided by the customer.
This production sequence helped maintain the designed curvature and prevented possible dimensional deviations caused by bending after machining.

2. Hole Machining
After completing the bending process, the rail holes were enlarged to 34 mm according to the customer’s requirements.
Each rail was processed with three holes at both ends to match the customer’s crane installation design.
This combination of bending and machining allowed the final rail products to meet the customer’s customized requirements instead of using standard unmodified rails.



Quality Inspection for Bending Accuracy
For curved crane rails, accurate bending is essential for smooth crane movement and proper installation.
To verify the bending quality, Glory Rail conducted a dedicated curvature inspection.
The inspection method included:
- Preparing a steel plate template according to the required bending arc
- Placing the template against the rail edge
- Checking the contact condition between the template and the rail surface
During inspection, the template matched the rail edge without visible gaps, confirming that the bending radius met the customer’s requirements.
This inspection method provided a practical verification of the rail curvature before shipment.
Production and Delivery
After completing manufacturing and quality inspection, the customized GB50KG crane rails were prepared for delivery.
The shipment details included:
- Production completion: Before early April shipment
- Transportation method: Truck transportation
- Delivery destination: Customer’s freight forwarding warehouse in Manzhouli, China
The rails were delivered safely to the designated logistics warehouse, where the customer’s forwarding partner arranged the next stage of international transportation.
