ASCE 45 Rail
ASCE 45 RAIL, also named 45lb per yard light rail, is a widely used American standard flat-bottom tee rail under AREMA & ASTM A1 specifications. Its cross-section dimension and unit weight are completely consistent with China GB 22kg Rail (GB11264) and Japanese JIS 22kg Rail (JIS E1103), enabling direct interchangeable replacement in global track projects.

ASCE 45 Rail Application Range
ASCE 45 RAIL (45-pound-per-yard rail) is a lightweight steel rail that complies with the ASTM A1 standard, weighing approximately 22.3 kg per meter. Due to its moderate load-bearing capacity and good durability, it is primarily designed for use in medium- and low-load track systems.
Specifically, its core applications include the following areas:
1. Light-duty industrial crane rails: This is one of its most typical applications, widely used as running rails for workshop cranes, automated warehouse cranes, yard cranes, and shipboard cranes.
2. Mining and tunnel transportation: Commonly used for track laying inside mines to meet the daily transportation needs of mining materials and equipment.
3. Automated warehousing systems: In modern automated warehouses, it serves as the guide track for automated retrieval and handling equipment.
4. On-site railways and temporary tracks: Suitable for shunting operations within factories, temporary transport tracks on construction sites, and certain narrow-gauge or light-rail systems.
ASCE 45 performs exceptionally well in industrial, mining, and lifting equipment applications that require flexible installation and do not involve extreme load requirements.
Is ASCE 45 RAIL Interchangeable with GB 22kg Rail and JIS 22kg Rail?
- Dimension Consistency: 100% matching cross-section, unit weight, mounting size
- Load Bearing Capacity: Equal maximum allowable wheel load under same steel grade
- Fastener Matching: Rail clips, base plates, bolts & spikes are fully shared among three rail types
- Supply Channel Difference
- ASCE 45 RAIL: Preferred for US, Africa, Middle East international bidding projects
- GB 22kg Rail: Main supply for domestic China & Southeast Asian infrastructure
- JIS 22kg Rail: Standard specification for Japan, Korea local construction

Custom processing for ASCE 45 – what we actually do
Glory Rail has a full fabrication shop for ASCE 45. We can cut rails to exact length, drill holes for any pattern (including non‑standard layouts), induction harden the head, and apply laser or stamp marking for full traceability.
We also offer cold and hot bending – useful for curved track sections, turntables, and crane runways.
Precision rail end beveling is available if you need a custom head profile.
For corrosion protection, we do hot‑dip galvanizing and other advanced surface treatments.
And we can machine bolt hole configurations to match special mounting requirements – slotting, countersinking, or multiple rows.

With decades of engineering experience in rail manufacturing, Glory Rail focuses on delivering precision-engineered rail systems designed for demanding industrial applications. Operating under established ASCE specifications with ISO-certified quality management, we integrate controlled steel processing and in-process inspection to ensure consistent dimensional accuracy, mechanical performance, and long-term operational reliability.
Full accessory package for ASCE45 rail systems
As a supplier who actually works with ASCE rails every day, we don’t just sell the rail itself. Glory Rail stocks a full range of compatible mounting accessories so you get a complete system – one order, no guessing whether parts fit.
Fishplates (joint bars)
For ASCE 45, our fishplates typically come with four or six bolt holes. Lengths run from 300 mm to 500 mm, thickness 12 mm to 20 mm. A typical bar weighs about 5 lbs (2.27 kg), though exact specs depend on the design code you’re working to. Made from carbon steel – strong enough for light rail applications.
If you need electrical isolation – signal systems, or environments where stray current is a problem – we also supply insulated joint bars made from non‑conductive materials. Those keep stray current where it belongs and improve safety on electrified tracks.
Rail clamps
Clamps stop the rail from shifting sideways. We carry several types: adjustable clamps, weld‑on clamps, and bolt‑down clamps. Pick the one that matches your foundation and load.
Rubber pads (rail seat pads)
Put these under the rail to absorb vibration and impact. Less noise, longer rail life. We offer pads in rubber, polyurethane, and rubber‑plastic composites. You can get continuous full‑length pads or shorter segmented pads – depends on your track layout and how much noise reduction you actually need.
Steel tie plates
These are made from structural grades like Q235B, Q345B, or ASTM A36. Good weldability, good load carrying, and they hold up in most track environments.
Thermite welding kits
For field splicing, we supply complete thermite welding kits. The process uses an exothermic reaction between aluminum and iron oxide to create a high‑strength, fatigue‑resistant joint. No complex power supply needed – you can weld on site quickly. That’s why it’s the go‑to for heavy crane runways and continuous rail installations.
