What Are Bolted Rail Clips?
Bolted rail clips are adjustable crane rail fastening components designed to secure rails to supporting structures using bolts rather than welded bases. They provide reliable lateral restraint while allowing controlled rail movement caused by wheel loads, vibration, thermal expansion, and structural deflection.
Compared with welded rail clips, bolted rail clips are easier to install, inspect, replace, and maintain. They are widely used on crane runways in ports, warehouses, logistics centers, steel plants, power stations, manufacturing facilities, and heavy industrial workshops.
Glory Rail supplies a complete range of bolted rail clips compatible with DIN 536 crane rails, QU crane rails, ASCE rails, JIS rails, UIC rails, GB heavy rails, and other international rail standards.

Basic Components of Bolted Rail Clip
High-Strength Nut:
Made from alloy steel with matching bolt strength, providing reliable clamping force and secure fastening.
Upper Pressure Plate:
Distributes fastening force evenly, reducing stress concentration and improving connection stability.
Forged Steel Clip:
The main load-bearing part that applies downward pressure and provides lateral rail restraint.
Flat Washer:
Expands the contact area under the bolt head to prevent deformation and maintain stable preload.
High-Strength Bolt:
Manufactured from 8.8 or 10.9 grade alloy steel, offering high strength and excellent fatigue resistance.
Flexible Supply Options for Different Project Requirements
Glory Rail provides complete bolted rail clip solutions with all necessary components, including high-strength bolts, washers, upper plates, clip bodies, and nuts. The pre-assembled fastening sets are ready for installation, helping customers simplify procurement and improve installation efficiency.
For specific project requirements, individual clip components can also be supplied separately, allowing flexible replacement, maintenance, and customized fastening solutions.
Bolted Rail Clip Installation
- Installation Flexibility: The hexagon-headed fixing bolts for all models can be inserted from below the supporting structure, adapting to diverse installation scenarios. If welded studs are preferred for fixation, please consult Glory Rail for specific guidance.
- Torque Specifications: Tightening torque varies by model and bolt grade, as follows:
- 3116/13/36, 3120/17/38, 3220/17/38, 3224/20/44: 200Nm for Grade 8.8 bolts; 300Nm for Grade 10.9 bolts.
- 3124/20/42: 600Nm for Grade 8.8 bolts; 750Nm for Grade 10.9 bolts.
- Maintenance: For complete installation procedures and maintenance protocols tailored to each model, contact Glory Rail directly to obtain detailed instructions, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
Corrosion-Resistant Coatings & Precision Machining
Crafted with high-quality materials, our bolted rail clips feature corrosion-resistant treatments (e.g., galvanization) to withstand harsh environments like humidity and chemicals. Precision machining ensures tight dimensional accuracy—critical for components like forged steel clips and special washers—guaranteeing proper fit with rails and supports. This attention to detail minimizes installation errors and extends service life.
