Project Overview
This A100 Crane Rail Replacement project was carried out for a shipyard in Singapore as part of its second-phase rail replacement work. The supply covered 780 meters of A100 crane rail, rubber pads, and fastening hardware, along with specified end cutting and protective coating. The rails were prepared for shipment in open-top containers and dispatched in late July 2026.
Project Requirements
For this phase of the shipyard rail replacement project, the customer required A100 crane rails with specific dimensions, end processing, and surface protection.
The main supply and processing requirements included:
- Rail Profile: A100
- Total Rail Supply: 780m
- Rail Length: 12m tip-to-tip, as specified
- End Processing: 45° bevel cutting at both rail ends
- Surface Preparation: Sa 2.5 abrasive blasting
- Protective Coating: Three-layer Jotun paint system
- Supporting Materials: Rubber pads, nuts, and washers
- Shipping Method: Open-top container
The specified rail processing and coating requirements were arranged around the customer’s project needs for the second phase of the replacement work.
A100 Crane Rail Supply and End Processing
The 780m A100 crane rail supply formed the main part of this A100 Crane Rail Replacement project. In addition to supplying the rail sections, the order included 45° bevel cutting at both ends of the rails, with a specified tip-to-tip length of 12m.
End processing was included in the supply requirements to match the project’s rail preparation specifications. The actual cutting dimensions and finished rail lengths were handled according to the customer’s confirmed requirements.
The supply also included rubber pads and fastening hardware, allowing the rail materials and supporting components to be arranged within the same project order.
Three-Layer Jotun Coating System
Surface preparation and protective coating were important parts of the project requirements. Before painting, the rail surfaces underwent Sa 2.5 abrasive blasting. A three-layer Jotun coating system was then specified, with each layer designed to a dry film thickness of 80μm.
The coating system consisted of:
| Coating Layer | Product | Dry Film Thickness |
|---|---|---|
| Primer | Jotacote Universal (0CL) | 80μm |
| Intermediate Coat | Jotacote Universal N10 | 80μm |
| Topcoat | Jotun Hardtop XP | 80μm |

The total specified dry film thickness was 240μm. The topcoat color was RAL 9005.
Using a specified coating system helped align the rail preparation and painting work with the project’s requirements. The final coating performance should be assessed against the applicable project specification and inspection records.

Supporting Materials for Rail Replacement
In addition to the A100 crane rails, the supply included rubber pads, nuts, and washers. These materials were included in the order to support the project’s specified rail installation requirements.
Combining the rail sections with the required supporting materials helped organize the supply around the customer’s project scope, rather than treating the rail as an isolated product.
Shipment and Project Coordination
The rails were arranged for shipment in open-top containers, with dispatch completed in late July 2026. The specified 12m rail lengths, end processing, and coating requirements were considered in the preparation of the shipment.
This A100 Crane Rail Replacement project involved coordinating the rail supply with the customer’s processing and delivery requirements for the second phase of the Singapore shipyard project.

Project Summary
This Singapore shipyard project involved the supply of 780m of A100 crane rail, together with rubber pads and fastening hardware. The rails were processed with 45° bevel cuts, prepared through Sa 2.5 abrasive blasting, and coated using a three-layer Jotun paint system.
The project demonstrates OLI Rail’s ability to coordinate A100 Crane Rail Replacement supply requirements, including rail processing, protective coating, and supporting materials for an industrial shipyard application.
